Thank you for your interest in this matter. You will find here several
documents which are copies of the correspondence with various departments within
the United States Postal Service in regards to our Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) request.
Starting 4Q 2004 we noticed that there was no effective way to locate "blue"
mail boxes for mail deposit.
We compiled a list of useful attributes about the mail boxes which would benifit
an indivual or business, if they were known.
This leads to our first request.

This was our initial request. Here we asked for a list of each mailbox,
post office, etc., and their respective information like address.

Their reply, denies access due to "national security"? They claim exemption 2 & 3.
Exemption 2 (5 U.S.C. § 552 (b)(2)):
related solely to the internal personnel rules and
practices of an agency;
Exemption 3(5 U.S.C. § 552 (b)(3)):
specifically exempted from disclosure by statute (other
than section 552b of this title), provided that such statute (A)
requires that the matters be withheld from the public in such a
manner as to leave no discretion on the issue, or (B) establishes
particular criteria for withholding or refers to particular types
of matters to be withheld;
in conjunction with (39 U.S.C. § 410(c)(2).):
information of a commercial nature, including trade
secrets, whether or not obtained from a person outside the Postal
Service, which under good business practice would not be publicly
disclosed;
They don't deny our fee waiver request.
